Studio Ghibli is a renowned Japanese animation studio known for its high-quality and imaginative animated films. It was founded in 1985 by two acclaimed filmmakers, Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, along with producer Toshio Suzuki. The studio's name, "Ghibli," is derived from the Italian word for a hot desert wind, chosen to symbolize the company's desire to blow new life into the animation industry.
